ISR/IST Laboratório de Robótica Móvel

The Mobile Robotics Lab equipment is based on a Robuter mobile platform. During the past years several small platforms and sensor devices were designed and created, which may be seen at our Museum.
The LRM also makes use of equipment from other Laboratories of Instituto de Sistemas e Robótica when participating in joint projects.

Main equipment

	Robuter Mobile Platform from Robosoft, with an embarked processor 68040@25 MHz and boards from Motorola, running Albatros operation System from Robosoft, also. The platform is equipped with 24 Polaroid Ultra-Sound sensors . It has two fixed power and steering wheels and two passive off-centred wheels; two encoders are associated with the two motorised wheels.
	Lasernet System for absolute localisation using artificial landmarks.
	Two motorised Pan & Tilt Units from Directed Perception
	Laser Range Finder from Riegl GmbH featuring range and reflectance measurements Image shows the Laser Range Finder coupled to a Pan&Tilt Unit.
	Infrared sensor docking system developed at the LRM.
	Video Camera and Frame Grabbers from DataTranslation
	Wireless Hubs and Wireless Ethernet terminal units from OTC Telecom

In the scope of project RESOLV there is a second mobile platform at the Laboratory, equipped with a second Laser Range Finder, video camera, sonars and bumpers.

Accessory equipment

• Four Sun Sparc workstations
• Windows NT server (Primary Domain Controller with Internet Information Services running)
• Four PC/Windows workstations
